The other data that explain Barça's defeat against Inter

The difference was in efficacy; while Inter solved the game with very little (5 shots), Barça needed more (7 shots, 71.6% possession, 26 actions in the area and 13 corners) to generate play and some chances without a goal.

Apart from the arbitration controversy, with two actions against Xavi's team, a disallowed goal and a handball by a defender in the area, the statistical data from the Inter-Barça match can also explain why no point was scored in the Giuseppe Meazza. The difference was in the efficacy. While Inter solved the game with very little, Barça needed more to generate play and a few chances.

The azulgrana dominated the ball and possession (28.4% of Inter against 71.6% of Barça), which led to a greater number of shots (5 for 7), the same aimed at the goal (2 for 2), more from outside (2 for 3) and equals intercepted by defenses (2 for 2). The azulgrana also finished off on more occasions from inside the area (2 for 5) but without success. A couple of shots from outside the area were enough for Filippo Inzaghi's men, one was deflected by Ter Stegen and the other ended in a goal. And it is that the Italian interventions in the area are limited to 8 by 26 of the Barça.

Xavi's men were more successful in passing (78.3% and 91.2), with greater precision in the final stretches (60 passes to 290), but the data from corners is also significant. Three from Inter for 13 from the azulgrana. And despite this, not so much.

Ousmane Dembélé was the most active, the most imprecise, but also the one who had the goal most in his sights. He finished off twice, one at the post (Andreas Christensen and Robert Lewandowski who hit) and created three chances.
